Are You Saved? The Gospel of Jesus Christ Explained
Do you know where you would spend eternity? The Bible teaches that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works. Below is what Scripture says about being saved.
The Roman Road to salvation
- All have sinned — "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
- The penalty for sin is death — "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
- Christ died for sinners — "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
- Confess and believe — "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9-13).
Eternal security
The Bible teaches eternal security for those who have trusted in Christ. Jesus said, "I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand" (John 10:28).
A prayer of faith
There's no magic formula, but a simple prayer of faith — acknowledging you are a sinner, believing Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and inviting Him to be your Savior and Lord — reflects what the Bible calls being "born again."
